PRESS RELEASE - October 5, 2007

Pursuant to the New Jersey Fair and Clean Elections Act (P.L.2007, c.60), certified Clean Elections candidates must participate in two general election debates as a condition of receipt of public funds. Noncertified candidates may elect to participate in the debates.

The New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC), announced today that general election debates for Senate and General Assembly candidates in the 14^th, 24^th, and 37^th legislative districts will occur as follows:

District 14

• Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. (Assembly candidates); Monroe Township High School Auditorium; Sponsored by The League of Women Voters of New Jersey Education Fund.
• Monday, October 15, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. (Senate candidates); South Brunswick Senior Center, 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction; Sponsored by the Home News Tribune.
• Monday, October 22, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. (Senate and Assembly candidates); Steinert High School Auditorium, 2900 Klockner Road, Hamilton; Sponsored by The League of Women Voters of the Princeton Area.

District 24

• Monday, October 8, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. (Senate and Assembly candidates); The Performing Arts Center, Mount Olive High School, 18 Corey Road, Flanders; Sponsored by the Daily Record.
• Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. (Senate and Assembly candidates); The Theatre Building, Sussex County Community College, One College Hill Road, Newton; Sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Sussex Highlands and the New Jersey Herald.

District 37

• Monday, October 15, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. (Senate and Assembly candidates); Hackensack Civic Center, 65 Central Avenue, Hackensack; Sponsored by New Jersey Citizens Action Fund and New Jersey Citizen Action.
